The Emilie Laurance brands pay homage to the daughter of a famous Saumur-based wine merchant, whose family was closely linked to that of Jean-Baptiste Ackerman. As of 1829, following her marriage to the latter, Emilie supported both financially and morally, all of her husband’s dreams and passions. Together, they created the first Saumur fine sparkling wines in 1830. This woman of character contributed to the development of the family company by taking charge of the House when her husband was abroad, thereby allowing it to become a reference in the art of elaborating Loire Valley fine sparkling wines, in France and abroad.

In view of fully expressing Emilie Laurance’s elegance and lively character, our oenologist Laure Gastineau has especially developed a new liqueur out of Chenin reinforcing the aromatic finesse of these refined bubbles. Chenin Blanc, the Loire Valley’s emblematic variety, marks all of the wines, and highlights all of the freshness and delicacy of a unique blend. This one was especially elaborated for the Emilie Laurance brands and allows us to provide all of the art of French-style sparkling wines. This is an art that we want to make available to the widest possible public, by allowing aromas of white fleshed fruit and subtle notes of vanilla to come to the fore.

Each of the boxes of wine are tastefully decorated with palm leaves. Refined and attractive, the palm tree was a symbol of affluence in the 19th century. It also evokes Jean-Baptiste and Emilie’s taste for exotic trips.
